We are the Philippine Safe Abortion Advocacy Network (PINSAN). We stand in solidarity with our allies in the US and around the world who are participating in the Women’s March on Washington. We, too, believe in reproductive freedom and echo their call to oppose “any federal, state or local rollbacks, cuts or restrictions on the ability to access quality reproductive healthcare services, birth control, HIV/AIDS care and prevention, or medically accurate sexuality education.” As a network that advocates for sexual and reproductive health and rights, including the right to access to safe and legal abortion, we join the global movement in promoting and defending those rights. Indeed, women’s rights are human rights.
